It is not formal. It is not logoed. It is not, despite what the internet suggests, especially expensive. It is simply considered — the sense that someone chose what they are wearing rather than grabbing it.
Cap d'Antibes is the quiet end of that coast: pine trees, rocky coves, and the Mediterranean at its most postcard-blue. Here is what to bring.
The unwritten rules
Nothing shouts — visible branding reads as trying too hard. Fabric matters more than shape; good silk in a simple cut beats a complicated garment in a poor material, every time. Flat shoes win, because the whole cap is pine needles, stone steps and rocky paths to the water. And one good piece worn repeatedly is more Riviera than seven mediocre ones.
Beach club daytime
The coves here are rock rather than sand, which changes things — you spend more time on a lounger or a flat rock and less time walking on beach.
A bikini plus a silk beach skirt is the standard, and the skirt does more work than usual: it is your barrier between skin and hot stone, your cover-up for the walk to lunch, and your shoulder wrap when the breeze picks up in the late afternoon.

Why pink, here
There is a specific quality to Riviera light in the late afternoon — warm, low, with a lot of reflected blue from the water.
Cool colours can disappear in it. Pinks and warm roses hold their shape against that blue rather than blending in, which is why the coast has favoured them for a century. It is not sentiment; it is what photographs well at six in the evening.
Old town evenings
Antibes' old town is cobbled, walkable and busy after dark. Dinner is relaxed, but the standard rises noticeably after eight.
The kaftan or the silk skirt tied asymmetric handles this without a change of clothes. Add flat leather sandals — the cobbles are genuinely uneven, and heels here look like a decision you regret.
The shoe problem
Worth stating plainly: between the rocky coves, the pine paths and the old town cobbles, there is no occasion on Cap d'Antibes where a heel is the correct answer.
